Thanks for all of the kind words about the win. It's been a long hard build for about 10 years total. It's a labor of love & passion for these cars that motivates me & other guys who build them. I did the very best I could using all of the knowledge I have along with others & with the help of a lot of guys. I heard from a buddy who knew one of the judges for my class and he said the paint was perfect and had the highest scores they had seen. I didn't paint the car,so the painter gets the credit for that, all I did was pay him. I call this car 'The Caboose' because it's the last one. Thanks again for the props on the BOC win & the very nice compliments on the car. It was also great to see many old & new friends @ the show.

I had the chance to check out Mike's car today. Wow! What a Great looking 442.
I was fortunate enough to spend the morning talking with Mike and checking out his stash of rare parts along with his two extremely beautiful Oldsmobiles, both of which belong in a museum. He even took me out for a ride in the car that won at Nationals. All I can say is "Wow"!
And as you all know, Mike is a walking encyclopedia on all things Oldsmobile. I learned a lot this morning.
Thanks Mike

They got me for 3 points on a front seat side chrome trim scratch,1 point for a seat scuff,1 point for door panels,2 points for tire scuffs & 1 point for a paint chip. The seat chrome was my fault,it had some scratches down where the seat pivot is and I didn't have another one and the only paint chip is where the trunk latch meets the catch.. The other deducts are a mystery to me. I was the first car judged and maybe they were just looking for anything. 992 is fine with me. Their notes had the body as excellent, engine compartment as excellent & the under carriage/ fender wells as beautiful.

"Son," my car has scored usually 980-990 but as high as 1000 in virtually identical condition at each show. Each time the deductions were partially correct and partially bogus, imo. As I told you before you got the judging sheet, it should get 998 because surely they would find something to pounce on. Your car is the best restored, best detailed 66 stocker I have ever seen in my 39 years in OCA. Now go and buy a new hat for your swollen up head, lol.
