Chrome Rally Wheels

Did I wait too long? I had my heart set on Wheel Vintiques chrome Olds rally wheels in 15 x 10 with 5" back spacing, but it appears they no longer offer them. Am I out of luck? I guess these are technically Rally II wheels.

"Rally II" wheels are Pontiac wheels...

Oldsmobile wheels are Super Stock wheels.

But isn't the super stock rim series a rallye style wheel?

Huh?

Olds used the terms "Rallye 350" and "Rocket Rally Pac" but never the term "Rallye (or Rally) Wheel". That was reserved for Chevy and Pontiac.

Are you referring to this from the ad?

Wheel Vintiques offers the 52 Series Olds Rallye wheel SSI
If so, last time I checked, Wheel Vintiques isn't a division of GM and doesn't specify terminology.

I wasn't referring to any terminology, just showing him that what he was looking for was still available.

Hello Harvey,

Good Day...I happen to have what you are seeking, qty-2 15x10 SSII all chrome wheels, still in the box, never been mounted. Purchased many years ago, until recently I forgot I had them as stumbled upon them in the attic. No longer have a need for them and willing to let them go for what I purchased them for + shipping. PM me if interested....

Good grief, I should have known this would start a debate. I should have been precise. I am searching for Series 58 wheels not the Magnum style. Jim if this is what you have, please PM.

Right you are. I was speaking of the style of the wheel, as in a rally type wheel being a racing derived wheel with a lot of chrome. I would posit the SS wheels are in the family of rally wheels, but they are certainly not named that, as noted.

GR, we just like to argue the finer points.

I have some, I **** you all not, PURPLE SSIIIs, that I got in a package deal that, I assume, are worth somewhere between nothing and not much.

Purple... Interesting!

As to the "finer points" I am just not that politically correct I guess. To me they are not "mag wheels", they are factory wheels, painted ugly grey, body color or chrome plated.... Too technical, SS1 are completely different, SSII I think are grey, SSIII may be body color.... Where does chrome come in... I give up! I have been an Olds enthusiast since the mid 1980's, It really doesn't have to be so complicated, maybe that is why I preferred the terminology chrome rally's... 😀 Just my opinion guys no offense!

Why would you want 4 10" wide wheels? You can't run 10s up front.

Did you mean 2 15 x 10 & 2 15 x 7 or 8?

Right now I have 275/60s on them, plans are to go to a 325/50 or similar maybe the MT pro street radials 28x12.50 with the flame tread.

Hopefully paint in the near future, just finished the front suspension overhaul and disc brake conversion.

I have a dumb question, but what do you guys do for a spare tire? One of the front ones and just go carefully home if you blow a back one with a smaller rim on one side?

The rim size doesn't matter, just the circumference of the tire. I just matched a similar cheap used tire to my rear 255-60-15's and put them on a 15x7 steel rim. That way you don't wear out the posi clutches if you have to run the spare for a considerable distance. The front tire size doesn't really matter
