Chrome Painting

Has anyone tried chrome painting dash bezels? If so, what kind of result should I expect and which brand of paint would you recommend. As always thanks for your help.

I have done it a few times on a 66 and a 67 dash. It looks good for a while. I used Krylon. It does not last and is not the same as the Aluminum vacuum plating they do. Any spot that is touched often will wear thin quickly. I find myself touching it up every few car shows.

These tips might help:

- ensure the surface is good and smooth
- paint the surface to be "chromed" gloss black
- spray the chrome paint
- apply hard clearcoat

YMMV
