A debt of gratitude
Mr. Shelby - I offer you my heart felt gratitude and respect for providing me with untold hours of pure pleasure and excitement while driving my '66 GT350. Of all the cars I've owned in my life, the one you built is far and away the most fun drive. It handles like a machine should handle. It always has. Rest in peace - you made an enormous impact on racing and building cars.... Thank you again....

There is a full page article about him in the Dallas Morning News today. What an interesting guy. He as one of the longest surviving heart transplant recipients (1990) in the country and he received a kidney from his son in 1996. He really was his own person. Apparently his health really declined in the last year.
RIP Mr. Shelby

A man who lived life in the fast lane. Even though I'm not a Ford guy, I have incredible respect for the talent and influence he had on the auto world. I know he's probably already at work 'up there' in his new spotless Shelby plant creating a new super car...
