Carburetor kit and bypass hose review, And... Inline Tube strikes again

Doing a project and picked up a carburetor kit and bypass hose from Car Quest. The carburetor is a 1970 Q jet and the Car Quest Carburetor kit was a PERFECT kit. I am very pleased with this kit. I did not use all of the kit but the gaskets were a spot on match to the quality of the originals. To top it off, the kit was Made in USA!

Also picked up the bypass curved molded hose that runs from the t stat housing to the water pump. Also a Car Quest hose. The quality is WAY better than the reproductions I have used and also Made in USA!

Now for Inline Tube. As most of you know from my W-30 build thread. Almost every order I get for them has something wrong. This is something like 9 out of 11 orders wrong since 2013. I thought, how could they mess up a 4 part order. Well they did. There carburetor inlet fitting INL10789 is listed for 69 to 72. It WILL NOT FIT 69-72! GRRRR!

They have a SS wheel nut for the spare that I may order since I can't find an original, but I'm worried they might even F THAT up.

I had the same problem with Inlines' "10789"carb fitting. Theirs has the larger 1" threads, not the 7/8" threads that the earlier original carbs use. I sent them an e-mail regarding this but never heard back from them. I did get a prompt refund.

I've gotten small stuff from them through their EBay store. I've never had an issue.

Bought a carb stud - was shorter than the original

Bought a 4 speed bracket kit - Did not have the stud in it that was in the sales picture

Bought body shims - were generic, not like the originals

They get an A+ for putting lots of parts on the market.

They get a C- for not doing a correct proof of concept

Sorry for the delay guys,

The bypass hose is part number A70476 and is a Dayco brand.

The carburetor kit was 96-233B and under that number was 635B. I used it on a 70 442 carburetor.

Thanks for clearing that for me, Patton. I'll get one in a year or less, at the rate I'm going.
