Fyi

GM of Canada has import documentation for all Oldsmobiles assembled in the USA & sold new in Canada.

This documentation includes every option on every car imported. So what he has is proof that this car is a W-30 but he does not have a build sheet.

This info is avaialbe for any VIN # you provide them....you do not have to own the car to run the VIN which makes it handy if you are doing your due diligence prior to a purchase. last I chequed the cost was $75 plus taxes.

This particular car is 100% legit W machine.

What price are you reffering to? It is bidding up in an action. What do you believe the current market value for these cars? The car is currently located in B.C, which is not really that close to Ontario.

Not all w-30's have red fender wells. The way I understand it,sometime in 1972 they ran out of red fenderwells and started using black.

If the car sells for the current price and someone spends 20-25K doing a correct restoration, the car should be worth 40 K or more. So the current asking price is not out of line in my opinion.

Of the two recent, documented, 1970 W30's projects that I've followed, one sold for $20K and the other $25K+. They were both 4 speeds.

This one's an auto but the price (right now at $12,701) is not "out to lunch"

Just sayin.....

The reserve on it is the price I am referring to which last time I looked was over 12000.
Oops, the literature posted on e-bay shows the car is originally from
London Ont-my bad.
That's what I am asking-what is a fair market value for these cars that run-I do not know
Close to 3000 miles to Long Beach and another mile or so for tailgate lunch in Toffino!!

You're kidding right? You cannot restore that car with 20-25K unless you do it all yourself. If you do a full body off resto figure $50K-$60K if you want it like new and stock. If you do body on and still want it stock figure $25-40K and btw those are starting prices.

amen to that. Motor not running=full rebuild. Last I checked an olds motor is at least $4-6000 to do on the stock side and if you have friends in the buis. Add a trans rebuild, maybe some rear-end look over not to mention all the suspension parts....Car is all there but Needs EVERYTHING. As a guy that does most his all resto work I'd have a good $15-20,000 in it without a single dollar for my time. Some paint colors are fetching $400 a gallon now and thats just basecoat no reducer, clear etc...quite honestly many don't have a clue what it would take to do the car 100% correct. I'd say buy one done that is maybe 5-10 year old resto if that's what they are after.
