can you still buy goodyear eagle GT-II tires?
Just wondering if you can still get these eagle GT-II's??? i have an 84 hurst/olds and would like to keep matching tires on it, granted they dont make the oem "GT" tire anymore the only difference is the "II" on the sidewall. just wondering how avaiable these are.

Goodyear Eagle tires are sure great tires. Don't know if they are around any more, but were probably the most expensive tires that you could buy at the time. I had a set on my 69 Chevy Impala for years during the late 80's and 90's and they were still going strong when I sold the car. They look great too.

threw some pics on here, see the attachments. I plan on painting it next year, even though it only has 27,000 miles, the original owner i bought it from let it sit outside most of its years paint on top of the car is shot

The closest thing I could find to the Original GT tires are 1 size up and solid while letter instead of the outlined from Good year. I need tires before spring too and I hate to put on the generic BF-Gs on my 84

Hey first off i see we're almost neighbors, im in charlotte! but yeah the solid white lettering is what i was afraid of cause thats what i've found as well, i dont need these anytime soon as mine look almost new, but i was just wondering what i had to look forward to in the future. You would think some of these classic tire companies would come out with a repo for the original GT's, might be worth an email.

Wow i guess we are neighbors haha. small world! But I talked to the company in the spring that reproduces the Polyglas GoodYears, and they said they had a few people having an interests in the outline GT's. But it didnt sound like they would start reproducing them for a while, and if they did, they would be about as much as the polyglas', which is in the neighborhood of $210 a piece... YIKES . I know a lot of Monte Carlo SS owners ask me where I got mine, cause they too had those tires, but unfortunatly mine were bought in the mid 90's when you could still get them.

well it sounds like there could be hope yet!~ i bought my hurst from the original owner last year and he said he just put them on a year or two before that and never really drove it once he put them on, so they really do look like new tires! so im good for a couple years yet, as little as a lot of us drive these things i think they'll dryrot long before the tread wears out! lol, Just for good measure im going to put some carpet pieces under them this winter and its always inside so i'd hope to be ok for a while. Can you squeeze by another year or two to see if anybody comes out with those GT's??

Yea sounds like there maybe a light at the end of the tunnel, but unfortunatly I think mine are going to have to have new ones in the spring. Those rears sure wore down fast.... haha. For the most part however, they show time wear more than anything. The inside tread is cracked pretty good, so it's almost hazardous to drive on.. :/

Yea looks exactly the same, Only difference I can tell is, it's just simply the second generation of the original GT's. I wished they still made these cause they lasted 18 years or so. Can't really complain. Not really sure what I'm going to do come spring time...

Not to sound like an idiot, but is that 3 shifters?

Goodyear has watered down the Eagle name the same way Oldsmobile did the Cutlass name.
