camshaft selection

camshaft selection

so i am now in the process of ordering parts for my 72 ols 350 and i would like to know what the best cam would be any ideas?

You need to list some more information. What are your goals for the build? Is this your daily driver? Stuff like that. If you have that listed here, tell us again. I might not be much help, but somebody will be.

Compression has a lot to do with selection among other things like your trans and rear end ratio, heads etc. With stock low compression engines your choice is limited, but it can be woken up a bit.

In addition to the above, the term "best cam" can mean different things to different people. "Best" at what? Mileage? Low end torque? High RPM horsepower? Sounding badass but not really needing to be badass? You need to be really specific in order to get useful information.

its my daily driver and im doing a complete rebuild with high compression pistons and im looking at a 3:42 rear end and im really looking for torque and i want to keep it atleast at 10 mpg
