Cam timing MTO-1
1976 350Oldsmobile Egr 4 barrel rodchester edlebrock intake MTO-1 Cam sealed power .40 over pistons 1 3/4 hooker headers going with 2.0 intake valves stock exhaust valves .question is cam degree do I just line up dots or is it necessary to degree cam?and where can I find a fuel pump eccentric?will any one work ?

I say you always degree the cam. Back in the 90s I installed a cam with the dots aligned and it didn't have the low RPM power that I expected. Later I checked the cam timing and found it was 8* retarded.

Always degree, the cam and or timing set come be wrong. You will have 7 to 1 compression with those pistons and your stock #8 heads. Get a set of the DSS pistons, worth the extra cost. Otherwise don't bother with the bigger intake valve, it will still be a slug. I ran that cam in a stock 76 350, a 8.5 to 350 with 307 heads and a 8 to 1 403, it is OK. You will want an upgrade in stall as well.
