A/C heater fan ??

Putting my 1970 dash back together and I am only able to get power to the blower fan when the switch is in the high position. I am powering things up by hooking battery directly to a wire that mounts on the steering column and another hot lead to the fan relay on the firewall. Steering column not in yet just trying to get things checked out Any ideas why only power to the fan when in the high position on the switch ??? Thanks. Greg

I don't have the diagram in front of me right now but if you are connecting battery positive directly to the wire that goes from the relay to the fan, you are bypassing the heater resistor. The resistor is not used when the fan switch is on high.

Was connecting power to the orange wire that connects to the ignition switch and power to the fused wire that goes to the heater relay. So if im bypassing the heater resister then the fan will operate on high ??? Thanks Greg

If you can find the black/Orange wire that runs from the heater control switch, it runs directly to the blower. If you jumper positive from the battery to that wire, the blower should run. Then you would be bypassing the resistor.
