Bye Bye 350!!!

1970 Rocket 350 / TH350 gone.....
Sold air cleaner to pan today with headers and trans.
Off to a new home in another newer Oldsmobile.

Now the REAL wallet bleeding begins cleaning up the entire engine bay, and getting the next engine ready.

Yeah it's sold. I didn't give it away.

My new motor deal was renigged on .....so I found another option
I'm looking into. Same motor, just from a different source. Going
to start bleeding the wallet here soon.

I have a $5,000 budget I'm hoping to stay in.
Not including the $1600 I've already spent for parts.
Final layout will be http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conver...ly-dyno-s.html

~500hp LY6 fuel injected LSX with a T-56 6 speed dual overdrive manual transmission.
Shooting for low 12's to high 11's with 12mpg city / 22mpg highway.

Thanks for the pics Aces. Keep us up on all your progress. Saw a '65 GTO at a show last week with an LS series motor and T56 and it was a killer setup.

They are totally badass. I have one in my 78 z28 already.
I'm addicted to LSX power.

I will have a thread going in the Major Builds and Projects section.
Gary's 68 did a 5.3L recently and he's been assisting me with the A-body
specific stuff, as well as what he did to overcome some of the install.

Nice pic of our backside's bud, we where 5 minutes away from home and it started to rain. Slid it straight to the engine stand and the boy went to town messing with it. He wants to start cleaning and re painting tomorrow. Will most likely start pulling the old 307 this week to do the swap. Have the new posi carrier on the way and hopefully within a few weeks our 442 will be rippen down the street.

Glad you got it home quick, sucks that it poured a lil bit.
Nice to meet you and your boy Keith. He's a big kid.
Good luck getting it all prepped and ready for the '87.

Gaskets in the valve covers are reusable rubber one's I bought.
Just an FYI.

I have a pic of your faces, but wasn't sure if you wanted it posted.
Some people don't like other people posting pics of their kids online.
I just figured I'd respect your privacy.

I sent you an email with one of the guys that wanted the TH350 possibly.

I have pics of us with our car on the trailer etc. And will be taking more of the swap and build up . I will post soon. He told me thanks dad its cool your doing this for me tonight before he left to go see his buddies and girl friend. That made me feel real good to hear him say that. Staying in touch with are kids is a great thing and I'm glad I decided to do this project with him. ( and its fun for me to). Can you believe he is only 19 and that big already.

Yeah, I don't know what the hell you were feeding him, but I felt like a midget next to him. LOL
I'm 5' 10" and he must be like 6' 5" or something. Very polite and well mannered guy tho.

Anyways, it's cool that you're doing this with him.
I wish I had more time with my father before he passed @ 49 years old to do these things with him.
He had me at a young age (18) and his older brother and him raced Mopar's back in the day.

I would have learned alot more alot faster if my life was different when I was a teenager. So spend
as much time as you can with him, coming from someone who lost his hot rodding father waaaaay
too soon. That's one of the reasons I bought this Olds off my Uncle, because I feel like it's a piece
of their history of hot rodding and I didn't want to lose it.
