buying and selling on Classic Oldsmobile

I just had a brief discussion with another member about sellers on this site. I told the person it is still buyer beware when you deal with a person either without a real name or unknown selling history. I sign all my posts so the people know my real name and use leepear in my screen name too. Nothing hidden.

Many of the members here our own John as an example is a moderator and known and respected seller. His word is gold. Other members are new and until they are known you need to deal with them with caution until they earn the respect of the members. Some members just join for price advice or to sell off a car or a few parts. Those are the unknowns. When you paypal or send large amounts of money for a part make sure you take precautions with your money especially if it is a person with under 25 posts. Check their prior posts and determine why they are on this site. I have not heard many horror stories here but if you have a bad experience you should give the person the opportunity to correct it then share your experience. We are a community here and need to protect the investment and time we have committed to making this a great Oldsmobile site.

Good luck, Lee

Nice post Lee.

To add. I would be willing to be a 3rd party to any purchase of parts in the Denver area. Kind of like an 'Escrow service'. I would be willing to hand over the money in exchange for the product. I have been the buyer on another site of a large purchase and i had another site member perform the transaction and help with shipping. It sure eases one's mind.

The offer is there.
