Burnt harness among other things

I had a few people asking about the smoked harness and how this all worked out with the Mistress so this is the damage. Did not need a new harness, but the labor to repair the old one was substantial. I now have a new voltage regulator, horn relay, new generator leads and a new generator( the last one was in there less than a hour)and various under dash wires that melted down. Now everything is shrinked wrapped back together and looking sorta like new. While working on the top of the car a soft plug from the carburetor was found laying on the back of a valve cover so that was replaced and thats probably why she developed a severe vacuum leak and a dieseling problems on shut off on my trip a while back. I'm having the dash pot rebuilt because of leaky diaphragm that was found while chasing down vacuum leaks and other problems, this will lead to complete tune up when all the parts come in. Well other than being broke I still feel very lucky I have a pretty car to play with.

So the old lady is home and looking pretty good and were looking to do another road trip soon, Car show Saturday as a warm up....Tedd
