Broadcast Card Documented
I was recently looking some 442s for sale and the one ad mentioned that the "Broadcast Card is Documented". I have not run across this before. What does this mean?

Actually, as pertains to Oldsmobiles of the late-60s to early-70s timeframe, when someone says Broadcast Card they are usually talking specifically about the Fisher Body Broadcast card. The only options listed on this are those which Fisher Body needed to know about, which isn't very many. Things like window tint, rear speaker, etc. For some years, W-30 is also listed.

To expand a little, the broadcast card was a card used by Fisher Body to identify the items needed for that particular body as it was built. As a result, it will only include option codes that were pertinent to Fisher. For example, it won't have any suspension info, but it WILL have info on the interior and any body mods required. The latter means that in some years, it will say "W-30", which is obviously great documentation for an otherwise tough to document option. Also, it is rare to find a Lansing build sheet but much more common to find the broadcast card, thus the importance.
