To the boneyard or save?
Lansing built 1970 Cutlass Supreme convert, all original with a 350 4 bbl, brown interior, black roof, gold(cc 58) and console shift. The car is not running(not seized) and needs a complete restoration. I do not have a pic-the guy had a Thunderbolt along with a lot of other nice cars and did not want his location photographed!
Do I save this car or let it go for scrap? The owner is asking 3500.
Thanx, the input is appreciated

That said, he did say it was appraised at 145,000 but did not say whether it was for sale or not. He did let us pop the hood and even touch it!

Hm, I'm about a dumbass. I was thinking Chrysler Thunderbolt of the 40s. Not sure now if there's any outside Chrysler's possession.
As far as the Cutlass, if it needs everything and doesn't have a bunch of options, then 3500 might be the very upper limit. If it's rust free you might be okay.
How can photographing a car close up give away someone's location? Is this a hoarder that has acres of cars rusting quietly and will be sold for scrap when he dies? Or is it a guy who thinks every car on his land is a B-J special?
Lowball the heck out of him and drag that dude home.

Yup, strictly into cars for money. Not my cup of tea, but when you get a feeling that Tony Soprano and his mates may show up, I was not going to debate his motivation for collecting cars,so the camera was put back into my pocket.Took my son with me, who is 13. Great learning experience for .him, to see a different , how can I say this, environment than what he is use to!!!
