Bolt size

Anyone know what length/size bolt I would need to bolt the coolant reservoir to the fender on my '72 Supreme?

Thanks,
Dave

Yeah, I'm about to do it myself. What one do you have?

You'd think for that amount of money they would provide the less-than-one-dollar set of screws to go with it.

in the past youve mentioned your employer is a japenese car manufacturer. Those cars typically use force fit SAE fasteners or metric ones. My guess is your parts bolt bin at work is filled w metric fasteners. .

Oh. Project bolt bin. Not car parts. This is a a small hardware store stocked occasionally. I did have to go with socket head cap screws, the hex heads weren't small enough. Did get standard though, we have both.

Our cars are put together with 7, 10, 14, and 18 mm bolts and screws, I think.

Dave, that is a 1/4 inch bolt long enough to go thru the plastic and the little sleeve and the fender, also use a washer behind the bolt and the plastic tank or it will split, also dont tighten it super tight, it's been a while but I think its 1 1/4 inch long, Tim

Would this be the same type of fastener as is used to attach the window washer reservoir to the inner fender? If so, a description of that screw would be 1/4 hex head - 14 X 5/8" long with a built in washer and an outside diameter of 1/2" in a gray-black finish. Just a stab in the dark just in case!

Thanks for all the replies...I ended up using a 5/16-18 x 1-1/12 inches long.
