Body Labor Time Guide 1966
Body Labor Time Guide 1966
I am posting this in the general section in hopes that I can find a speedy resolution, and assuming that most people peruse the genreal section first. I am searching for a body labor time manual which covers 1966 cutlass (i.e. labor times to remove trim peices, rear seat, rear interior sail panels, etc). I am in disagreement with the insurance over the time it takes to get my car properly fixed. Thanks in advance if you can help out.
I can't help directly but are they adding time for access? Most modern cars all the moulding is removed from the outside. Just to get to nuts on a 66 you have to R/I interior panels and the front wheel houses.
You need a Mitchell Collision Estimating Guide covering those years. That's what professional body shops used and use when estimating collision repair.
A quick ebay search didn't turn up anything for that far back but I daresay you'll find one somewhere. Sometimes these even included part numbers.
The GM Divisions also published flat rate manuals for both mechanical and body shop use but I expect one of those would be considerably more expensive than the Mitchell, simply because the deep pockets musclecar crowd have driven up prices on such stuff.
