Hi friends. I've always leaned toward the vintage olds of the 1940-1950s era, but now that nearly ALL Olds are getting up in age, Im open to the purchase of a late model Olds. Something with the road manners of the late model Buick road masters. A true highway cruiser. Something fuel injected and late model. What do you suggest? The 98 series? The Aurora? Thoughts?
I loved my 96 98. I've thought about buying another 91-96 Oldsmobile 98 C body car. I might get one with a supercharger for a bit more power (91-95).
The 3.8l v6 is far superior to the Shortstar available in an Aurora. It's probably tied with the SBO 350 as the second best engine in a Oldsmobile after the 455.
late 90s to 2000s Olds 98 Touring Sedan. 3.8V6, 4 speed Auto-overdrive. Awesome comfort for 5, 30+ MPG highway, 120mph top speed
That would be my choice. Ive had 2
Thanks for the feedback. Im a big fan of the 3800 series v6. Ive got a 1968 Jeepster Commando with that Buick 225v6, the old grandfather to the 3800. Super engine. Ive never driven a 98 and am thankful to hear from those of you that have. I love me a big old bench seat up front too!
I had a 1970 Olds 98 Luxury Sedan that came equipped with all the bells and whistles and would pass anything on the road except a gas station. It had a gold brocade cloth interior that was like sitting on your living room couch. The only other car that was more comfortable than that was a 1948 Cadillac Sedan Deville that I bought used when I was in high school. When I was in college, I purchased a 1926 Buick Master 54C coupe, and it was very comfortable to sit in, but it rode horribly. I have loved old cars my entire life.
