Barn Find

Just bought this H/O today.
Theres just a touch over 50,000 showing and it is complete.
Spare tire in trunk is mounted on extra alum. rim. That normal for a H/O?
Just started researching these. Any odd ball options I should look for?
Being probably the one of one barn find I ever get the chance to do once,
How long does one leave in 'Barn Found' condition?

Doug

Nice find. Welcome to the sight. I'm sure you will enjoy bringing your H/O back to life.

I try to get anything I dig up back to life as soon as finances allow. I never forget where they came from. Once a barn find always a barn find.

Why can't I find any cars like that? I know there's no barns in Idaho. Man I'd be on that restoring it like stink on a turd. It's an 80's car they have no value yet but they will. I'd do everything possible to make it a fast drivable car.

I'd clean it and leave it - just enjoy it for a while, well get it road worthy and safe which means at least a tune-up, check tires and brakes etc.

Thinkin once the newness wheres off I'd clean up the patina and throw together a 'stocker' that turns corners. Nothing crazy. Just enough to push the stock 14x6 rims and ride decent.
All bolt on parts so I can put it back if I want to.
Any suggestions on parts selection.?

My bolt-on days are done. I'd leave it as stock as possible. Too many years putting on headers, intakes and chrome air cleaners, then too many more years looking for the old correct air cleaners and stock manifolds.
Sorry, I know that's not too exciting.

I am a big fan of clean er up and drive her!

Is it missing a headlight, or maybe it is just the angle of pic?

Nice find..

It is very complete. Havent got this one home yet.
Need to thin the heard before I have room.
The plan is to clean off the top layer of patina, give it a good once over ,
fluids, battery, start, drive. Update as I go.
Maybe find a build sheet?
Where is the 'cowl tag' on these?
Any one know what brand tire was stock?
