Ball joint-original

Decided to replace upper a-frame bushings this fall as they are dry rotted. I pulled the passenger side off first. I was also planning on replacing the ball joint as well. The amazing thing it is the original ball joint and the boot is still pliable and the joint is still tight 45 years later. I don't really see a reason for replacing it

As long as it does not move in and out in the socket its probably still good. Mine were still good except the boots were shot. Since I had them I went and replaced them anyway.

X2. I had no choice - mine were blown open too. That started a whole can of worms going that ended up with replacing/rebuilding the entire front end of my car. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

And boots can be had separately if you just need that and the joint is still good.
I did a tie rod boot a few years ago - easy..
