Bad Day at the Garage Today

Started the day off repairing the Hyd cylinder on my 4-post lift. Had to move the Olds off the lift tried to start it and the battery was dead. It was only about 6 days since it last started. No lights on or switches left open so I have no idea why it died, maybe just not holding a charge anymore. Will check it next weekend. Used the charger to start it and pulled off the lift onto the carport area. Set the charger up to see if I could get a good charge on it.
In the meantime, I repaired the lift, wiping up hydraulic fluid about 50 times; from the hose dripping, the cylinder leftovers, the new fluid overfill, the bottle dripping, you name it and it dripped.
Tested the lift a few times and decided to clean the floor of all the residue and fluid so swept and mopped, the floor looked real good. While I waited for it to dry, pulled the charger off and decided to drive around the neighborhood to keep everything in good shape. Was only out about 5 minutes so returned to the garage, pulled up on the lift and tested it with the car on. Everything worked so I left the car in the air and went about some other tasks. Thirty minutes later returned and found coolant all over to floor under the lift! Couldn't believe it, floor cleaned and now I have a coolant leak from somewhere. Put the drip pans down and cleaned the floor for the 51st time today. Locked it up and went in the house. No more chances for disaster today. I'll start again in the morning.
The day started out so good too.....

Amazing how "when it rains it pours". Sometimes you just got to back off and come back when the carma is better.

I thought you were going to say you had a fire
spilled juice is NOT a problem.

You have a HOIST and SPACE TO WORK IN?

Count your blessings.

A little coolant is nothing. A kid that worked for my buddy dropped a 67 Vette off a two post. Ouch

From the way you started about the hydraulic fluid, I thought this was going to be much, much worse than just an antifreeze leak. This is what I was expecting, or even worse if somebody was nearby when it happened!

Now you have a lift in good working order to help fix you coolant leak. Unless it's because you have a cracked block or head I'd say go buy a lottery ticket while your luck is running for you.

If you find a wire has fallen off or a light accidentally left on buy TWO tickets.
