my tranny went out about a week ago and I have a 350 and I was deciding between getting my 350 rebuilt or just get a 400 and I planed on getting a 455 next year or sooner and the 350 cant really handle that much HP what should I do?

 

You can have 350 build to handle that much, just make sure you find the right person for the job. My 350 got build to handle 700hp. 350 is also quicker and lighter than 400.

 

To plan for future HP upgrades IMO go for a well-built 400 and sleep in comfort knowing you have a bullet proof trans. The only down side to the 400 vs the 350 is parasitic hp losses. The 400 pulls more hp off the crank but your 455 build will offset that nicely. Racers sometimes choose the 350 over the 400 in search of low ETs
