Well I'm back in an Olds again.. Picked up a nice 72 Cutlass. It belonged to a good friend and club member who past away from cancer.
He owned the car for more than 25 years. I worked on it back in 2000 when I had a small shop after I retired the first time. This car started me
on Oldsmobiles.
Its has 89K original miles on it. Most of the paint is over 25 yrs old. The engine is 68-70 block, heads are 71.
Has aftermarket carb and intake plus headers other wise all stock. Runs and drives great..
Me too. Picked up a 72 Supreme last fall, waiting for the salt to be gone and I'll have an Olds daily driver again for the first time in 30 years. Great feeling.
If you read on the internet that the 395558 2 block is 68-70 only, that info is incorrect as that block casting number was used on all 350 engines from 1968-1976.
The 1971 350 had 7 heads.
The 1972 350 had 7A heads, with the A being a small letter slightly lower than the 7.
