Auction coverage on TV

I guess Mecum isn't affiliated with Velocity any more. Just saw this. IDK if I get Esquire Network.
Barrett-Jackson is on some weird combination of Fox Sports, Fox Sports2, & Nat'l Geographic.
I don't sit there watching for hours on end but like to flip by & watch for 10 or 15 minutes at a time. This is going to make it a PITA.

I get these channels on Direct TV, but Esquire is in standard def. Velocity had awesome coverage with great camera views and good commentators. I am really dissappointed to see it leaving the network. I am sure that Dana Mecum got more money from these other channels.

I always thought the commentators effed up a lot except for Steve Magnante on B-J.

The same four announcers who did the work on Velocity will be on Esquire/NBC Sports Network. I just received an email from Mecum about this today.

The Esquire Network used to be the Style Network, is probably on a lot of cable and satellite systems, and likely few people realize it. We get it on Comcast in Hi-Def. But this is not surprising, since Comcast owns NBC and all the affiliated networks (Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, Esquire, MSNBC, and probably more.)

B-J would occasionally not know their Oldsmobiles and W cars as they came across the block. I just love watching them butcher something.

I believe John Kraman works for Mecum as a consignment coordinator so I knew he'd be back and I LOVE Bill Stephens. Scott Hoke is good too. They need to 'lose' Stephen *** IMO - he annoys the hell out of me so much I literally mute the TV when he speaks.

I always mute the sound on Mecum shows. Those 4 chuckleheads get annoying pretty fast and, for some reason, their booth is right next to the auctioneer. Way too much cross-talk to listen too. I usually just fire up one of my jukeboxes and listen to that while I watch.

I wonder if Velocity Channel will negotiate with any of the other auction companies to broadcast the auctions?

Mecum was on Velocity for several years I believe.

Is Barrett Jackson still shown on Speed Channel? I don't get the Speed Channel.

Speed Channel is kaput. B-J will be on Fox Sports or some variation of it.

Other than the money, one has to wonder why B-J would go to Nat Geo? It is hardly the first network car guys turn to for programming.

The Barrett Jackson schedule for the Scottsdale auction coming up next week. I don't think my cable system (Comcast) offers Fox Sports 2, which used to be Fuel TV.
