Anyone here use Stockton Wheel

Looking for feedback on Stockton Wheel in Calif.
Or anyone know of a chrome plater in the Mid West that will rechrome SS1 wheels?

thanks

Stockton is 50 miles north of me, I had my chrome done by western chrome in Fresno which is 60 miles south of me. They did the right thing but I had to be all over them. I would look for chrome platers in your area so if there's a problem you can solve it face to face.

Go over to V8Buick.com and do a search under "rallye wheels", etc....there's a recent thread on there about a guy in the Midwest that apparently is doing some nice re-rims on the Buick Rallye wheels ao he may also be able to handle yours. I'm may be sending him a set of Buick wheels but haven't called him yet.

Still....he seems to get some pretty good reviews.

I'll try to find the thread and post a link also.

You will likely find that they really don't "rechrome" the outer rims. They cut off your old ones and weld on new chrome replacements. As far as the chrome on your centers, I'm not sure what they do there. Frankly, if the chrome on your center portions is fine, I'd leave those as is and redo the black paint areas. The chrome on the center/spoke area isn't a real bright, smooth finish anyway and I don't think most, if any, of the rechrome guys will duplicate that unique, somewhat satin/textured look on the spokes.

Many times, the centers will clean up nicely with some chrome polish and bronze wool or 0000 steel wool.

Here you go....the V8Buick thread I mentioned above. If you can't find the guy they refer to in the thread let me know as I'm registered on that site, etc.
