Anyone ever seen seatbelts like these?

Found these in a '66?? Mercedes in a yard today. Never seen anything like this. There is German writing on them but I don't read the language. They look like they might have been a factory option?? I thought maybe some rat rod guys might like them but wanted to see what info I could get first.

Never seen them before. They look heavy duty.

Someone was serious about their autobahn experience.

Suggest you run the verbage of the tags through google translate. Pictures not quite clear enough for me, neither is my german.

Likely saftey related like DOT..er MOT...sfi..like related requirements.

Yep...it just means that this part is for the righthanded side.
The rest is just manufacturer company, patent stuff and thats it.

I am pretty sure that it is not serial but some kind of aftermarket stuff as in the sixties 95% of the cars didn´t have belts and if they had belts, they have been ridicolous small.

That's my guess. Those buckles don't even look like standard automotive type (even for Euro / the era) . They don't look military and I doubt it's hiperf/racing as they're just a pair of lap belt sets.

Post a closeup of the complete labels and maybe we can tease out more info....

Those are I believe some aircraft style lap belts. People use them for racing.

They look like they are from a German WW11 Bomber, Maybe a Stutgard or messerschmitt.

I don't think they are aircraft or vintage racing. The only latches I've seen for aircraft & old racing belts is either the lever-lock style or the cam-lock style. These have neither and they have no provisions for shoulder straps.

They look kinda low-tech. Almost like one notch up from carnival ride belts. I suspect they're like Levellord said. Some sort of aftermarket (think the J.C.Whitney of Germany) pieces.

Whatever they are, I'm sure the vintage rod crowd will love 'em. The original rodders used whatever they could find - including Mil surplus stuff. Genuine WWII & post era belt sets go for big money to those crafting period correct rods.
