Any good classic Chevy Truck forums?
I just bought a 71 C20 Custom Camper. I found one truck forum set up similar to this one, but there doesn't seem to be much activity. I am trying to figure out how to fold the front seat forward to access the gas tank and jack. I am not sure if this can be done or if the seat just slides forward.

Maybe they have changed their requirements. Yeah, I just got the truck and haven't really gotten into the old gas in the main gas tank issue. Too busy figuring out the dead cylinder issue I originally thought was a carb problem when I first looked at it. Fortunately, the zero compression reading was the result of a rocker coming loose. Next are the 28 year old tires with flat spots...

There's a fellow on AACA forums who has a C/20 Camper. Lives in NY state. I can ask him, or you can join up there. Lots of fun and info there too.
He had pictures of him and his sons going after a Christmas tree in that outsized pickup.

I don't know if they go back that far but this is a great forum. Good luck with your new old truck, I like it.

I didn't really give a lot of thought to the body style. I was just looking for an tough older truck to haul landscape materials and pull my old boat. This one had a rebuilt transmission 1000 miles and 18 years ago, timing gear (they found plastic bits in the screen when they pulled the pan) , and oil pump. The maintenance records go back to 1993 and an odometer reading of 68,600 starting with the flat spot tires and showing brake work, front end, shocks, alternator, and windshield. Seems the shops used to have more narrative on their receipts back then and you can really get a good idea of the vehicle history. The truck now has an odometer reading of 16,500. The guy I bought it from got too old to drive and it sat for a long time, although it seems to run pretty good now that I sorted out the loose rocker. It's going to hurt laying out another grand for 16.5" tires.

That's a pretty truck.
If your truck has 16.5" rims on it you might consider getting new 16" wheels. My 86 Ford F250 came with 16.5" rims from the factory. When I bought it a previous owner had put 16" aftermarket wheels on it.

A set of wheels is at least $900. The additional cost for a set of 16.5" tires is $200. I probably won't buy another set of tires for it since it's not going to be used daily, so new wheels on an old patina truck don't make a lot of sense.
