Any Factory Service Manuals?

I should really get a service manual for my 455. Although Im not sure exactly what year it is. My guess is a 71 or 72. Are all 455's the same from 68-72? It was from a toronado.

What manuals should I look for? I would really like a factory, or copy of factory manual. Any links? Thanks!!

I was in the same boat needing a shop manual for my 455. I went To a used book store and found a Motors Manual. It has all the engine info you would want for engine repair. The book covers six or seven model years, and I found it was easer than the factory manuals when I worked for an Oldsmobile dealership.

im just concerned it wont be specific enough.

i only need one for the 455 since its not in an olds car.
i suppose i should get one for the right year head. Since those were only offered in a certian year but the motor was the same throughout? (Ga heads)
Or do I have to find one for a certian car and just get the whole thing? What year, make and model should I get?

The Ga heads were used in 1972. The Chassis Service Manual is what I would get if I were you. It covers all the mechanical parts plus more, but it sounds like what you would want. Watch for them on ebay as they come up pretty often. John

Here's an example of a 1970, which would probably work for you.
