Any Body Mount Bolt Removal Tips?

Anyone have any good tricks on how to remove body mount bolts from 64-65 A-body cars, without breaking them? I want to use some floor sections with the mount area. Trying to avoid having to drill out pieces. Wondering if the bulge over the nut section could have a hole drilled in it and squirt penetrating fluid on the bolt end. Smacks of work, but there must be a way....

I drilled a 1/8" hole in the floor above all of the mounts, so I could sneak the PB blaster's red spray can attachment where the threads are. I sprayed them all for 3 days once a day after work.

Not much else you can do other than using an impact wrench to vibrate them. The tack welds are either going to break, or they're not. All of mine came out just fine, and my car was pretty rusty. Depends on how far gone the welds are.

Use a butterfly impact. Just go back and forth a little at a time, don't get in a hurry. You should not spin one if done correctly. If you do, use a hole saw to get access over the spun nut, repair caged nut. Cut a slightly larger metal disk and use a suitably sized socket and a press or ball peen hammer to reform the bulge and weld it in and grind it down. Worked for me.

i have used a hole saw to put a hole in the bulge, that way you have room to work on it if the bolt does break. then you can put a body plug it. 1 1/2 seems to work well.

In my personal experience, you MUST use an impact wrench to avoid spinning the nutplates. I wouldn't go cutting any holes unless you do spin one. Why make more work for yourself if you don't need to.
