Another "Rocket" mis info

Talking to a guy this morning, wanted to know if my '71 had the 350 "Rocket", I explained about the years that ALL Olds V-8's were called that, and for what years, no matter what displacement (I did not go into the 215), "Is it Gold?....they were faster". Aaahhhh, crimminy, what do ya do?

I enjoy sharing what I know about my car and Olds in general to most folks with good intentions but faulty info. (Does that have a 442 in it?). I'm still a relative newbie and probably stuck at least part of a foot in my mouth somewhere along the way. On the other hand, arrogant know-it-all's can continue down their misguided path.

I guess my 400 was a rocket, until I painted the engine black to match those Vance Brady built for the original Rund car. lol

I just tell them yes,it's a rocket. They usually say "cool" and walk away thinking it's something special and out of the ordinary

when they ask if it is a "rocket" engine just look at them, smile and say "No, it an internal combustion engine".
