Another Junk yard getting ready to scrap everything
Another Junk yard getting ready to scrap everything
I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum.
Occasionally I watch this guy's channel "Heart of Texas Barn Finds and Classics". He goes through junk yards in Texas finding cars to save. If someone were to spot something of interest he says to contact him to broker getting it.
I watched a video last night, part 1, where he's checking out a private junk yard of 700 vehicles, plus car parts that are going to be scraped soon. He said everything is for sale and his contact number is in the description and to call him and he'll give the sellers number for any interested parties.
I saw quite a few Olds including a couple of 1968 Cutlasses @ 56:28. I also spotted a 1959 Olds 88 or 98 @ 59:45 which a member recently was looking for the rear quarter to fix his that was in an accident (I believe he lives in Australia and can't remember his name). Anyway, it's worth a watch if you like that kind of thing or you're looking for parts. Kind of a shame that people hang onto cars like this and in the end die and almost all that they saved goes to waste, it's just mind boggling. The music is just for a couple of minutes in the beginning.

TX Barn Finds and Classics
The guy with the channel is "Thomas". I don't know his last name or know him personally. He is friends with a Guy I know "Dan" who transports derby cars and parts up to Wisconsin. Dan recently moved to Sherman TX and has more of an eye now on what the Barns Finds and classics channel is doing. Dan is more of a Broker, and has a regular job in ATV/UTV or "side by side" sales.
Don't think either one of them has time to sell individual parts, for the most part. They try to acquire vehicles that they think might sell whole. Have seen episodes where Thomas sends whole cars to the crusher, with rollers and all. I would have at least pulled off certain parts, as well as the rims and tires. There is no love for G bodies either, a relatively decent appearing Grand Prix was junked in a recent episode.
