Kudos to Napoleon for selling me the remnants of one 65 Cutlass 2 door hardtop. I should have most of what I want to carry forth with my sorry 442 project. Kind of hate to cut this apart, but what must be must be. Very cool 381917-1 block with matching #2 heads and 387691 intake. Still runs, even. The 15 inch ralley wheels don't look half bad on the car, either.

This is the best quarter, and it's got some fill in it. Pretty straight, though. The back bumper has dents. Would be a good core. All I really needed was the floor shift style column and some metal work under the trunk. Better for Napoleon to move the whole rocket, as he's tight for space. Half the worlds 65 Oldsmobiles seem to live with him. I'd better not go over for a while. My wife sees any more cars come home and I'll be living there as well !!

You beat me to it brotherman. I was going to post a similar thread. Like we said, 'you can't save them all'. I move in to my new house tomorrow and I'm still figuring out the logistics of where the flat top wagon will go and a temporary home for the Jaguar. Jeez!

BTW Dave, that guy Dennis you spoke to on the phone stopped by the shop and had a quick looksee at the VC. More than he wants to chew. So, Admiral Stubbs will likely just want the fuel tank - so the rest may be yours....better make room at the homestead.

I'm tempted to use the ralleys on the 442 and kiss the American Racing wheels goodbye.

nice score dave, hows the metal around the back window? mine is needing more work.i was in richmond on wednesday for a few hours. thought about looking you up but was tite for time unfortunatly. i like the ralleys myself too.

hey , i just noticed it also has a 381917 1 block(1964) with 2 heads(1965) same as my parts car. i thought maybe mine couldnt be original because of that but now im not so sure. if you cut that thing up like the last one save me some of the window area. tk65 may still need a package tray also. any chance its got a good posi rear?

I don't think it has a posi, but Napoleon's Vista Cruiser does. If you could trick him into selling you the rear end, I could probably bring it out for you. Of course that would make it a non-rolling chassis in his shop, so the odds might not be great, but you never know !!
I'm sure I can save you some window area, and we can check with TK-65 about the package tray. It looks fair, surface rust but no obvious holes. The theater of the mind is alive and well....

Thanks Dave, my car has a small rust through area in the lower corner about 4 inches long and about 1 inch wide. Is that just surface rust on your car or is it too far gone to use a section from? Hard to see from the pictures. Might be easier just to fabricate a piece!

I think it's just surface rust, but haven't had time to dig into it. I'm sort of focusing my attention on my 75 Vette for the moment. Want to get it sold, if possible. Not always easy trying to trick someone into giving me $6000 for an old car.

I don't need it, but there is a fair bit of bondo in the rear lower section. Not sure it's worth paying the freight unless you've got a really nasty one, Justin.

What about just the lip area ? The lower section I can fab up something ? With a old door but the lip is what I need maybe just a few inches up ?

The lip is not too bad. It has a couple spots starting, but pretty small. When the time comes, I'll likely zip this whole quarter off in one chunk, sail panel and all. It might be straight enough for someone to change the whole thing, especially if their's is crunched.
