Another 1971 Cutlass S

I found another 1971 Cutlass S. I got real lucky this time. The car was located in a storage unit here in Birmingham, Alabama. And it was priced reasonable for a change. Ususally have to drive two to three hours one way to get a decent car and I have to pay twice as much for them when I do find them.

This car is nothing special and it isn't really all that nice up close. It's a bench seat car, something I ususlly don't buy. The trunk pan is rusty and needs to be replaced, the roof is full of bubbles from the vinyl top, and there is very little of the trim that can be salvaged.

The good news is it came with a 71 455 block and crank along with older C heads. It looks like they have already been cleaned and inspected so I may have scored something here.

Nice find! Still looks like lots of nice parts left. How's the driver floor pan.

I need to pull the seat out and crawl around up underneath it to see. I knows this sound funny but I haven't gotten around to a detailed exam yet. I looked it over when I bought it but you never find the true extent of the damage until you get them home and start tearing into them.

The floors seem soft. I found just a few pin holes. I'd pass on them if I were you. Another, better car should come along soon.

The good news for me is the car has some new parts on it including shocks and springs. Along with the new parts it also has front disc brakes, a grerat looking frame and some really nice bumpers. I'll be keeping the rear bumper for my 1972 Cutlass Supreme build. So, I am happy with this car. It should provide some good donor parts.

I'll be posting it in the parts for sell section soon.

The passenger grill looks good. The driver's side is not so good. But if you buy the passenger side grill I'll give you the driver's side.

Thanks
