Amps required for Aftermarket Water and Temp Gauges

I was working under my dash and I accidentally pulled a wire from one of the fuses in the fuse block that the previous owner had stuck in there. He placed an Auto Meter 3431 Water Temp and 3421 Oil Press Gauge under the dash. He then crimped both wires together into one wire with a metal connector at the end. He had then pushed that connector into one of the fuse blocks. I just can't remember which block and what amps the 2 together would require. I'm figuring the 2 together would need at most 10amps but I want to be sure. Kind of a hack job but it works for now until later. See attachments. Thanks

Those wires are probably for the lights. The wires should be red, if so they would need to be plugged into the dash/tail circuit .

Maybe not, they can also be power for an electrical gauge with sending units. With that said I would think low amp draw.

Very low like 1/2 amp. Make sure they go into a switched power source.

and make sure you connect to the correct side of the fuse, so the circuit is actually protected by the fuse you're connecting to. to check this, take the fuse out of the switched circuit you wish to use, turn on the key, connect your wire to both terminals in the fuse box, one at a time, where you just removed the fuse from. only one side will make the meters work/light. turn off the key and re-install the fuse. connect the meter wire to the side that did not make the gauges work/light, that is the fuse protected side.

I would expect the Auto Meter web site to have wiring instructions available online. Have you tried there?

Took everyone's suggestions and at the end of the day the gauges will work without any connections. However, the lights don't come on. I tried the lowest amp 4 on the fuse block...no light. Went to a 10amp and worked as expected with lights on. Used Bills suggestion to find the protected side as well. In all the confusion I didn't even think of trying the auto meter website so I'll give that a go.
Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. Trying to separate fire from smoke as I learn

Make sure the gauge lights go out when the light switch is off or the ignition if switched off. You do not want a dead battery after a weekend.
