Am I reading this right?

According to the diagram, the bolts for the front bumper braces on my '72 Supreme that connect to the frame to the bumper above the license plate go from the top down. Yet, if this is correct, after everything is put together, there is about 1/4" of the bolt that is visible above the front license plate on either side. When I ordered the bolts, I was assured that they were the ones I needed. I thought maybe I could flip the bolts and insert them from the bottom up, but they're too long and hit the bottom of the grille.

I've included a pic of the bolts as well the diagram from the CSM.

Is the diagram correct and are the bolts supposed to be visible, or am I missing something?

So once assembled, the remaining length of the bolt is visible above the front plate?

Yes, Just remember that these cars were never intended to be referred to as concourse quality, or roll across the green at Pebble Beach let alone the stage of Barrett Jackson on television. Enjoy it for what it is…, with all of its flaws… Or make it your own point of perfection for YOUR personal satisfaction, it’s your car.

cut 1/4" off the bolts then you can put them in from the bottom, opposite from the picture. Thats what I did on mine.

So there is original as the factory made the car, or there is modified to make it more pleasing to the eye.
