Air conditioning removal

hi,
I've been trying to remove the air conditioning from my 69 cutlass and am after as much help as possible 😊. I'm trying to remove the main mount from the engine bay but there seems to be a few screws under the right side fender? I'm trying to remove it all from the engine bay but not quiet sure how much of it is actually part of the air con.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated..oh by the way I'm british so please use lamens words the easier the better.

Thankyou

You have to remove the fender well to gain access to the screws/bolts, there is some around the fan. Also you may need a cover for it, there is some that let you use the heater after removal. I know it gets cold over there so you might need it.
Something like this let's you keep the heater without the AC.
link for the AC delete cover on Ebay

Whoa there, Pardner. Shouldn't you know what you're removing before you rip it out?

Ya, I learned that the hard way. Started to rip stuff off the motor not knowing what the parts were for and shortly after driving the car a few miles all sorts of problems started to develop, overheating hard steering and dead battery!

There is really not much to it. Compressor and all the hoses, condenser and the box on the firewall. It's pretty straight forward. the biggest PIA is getting to the fan housing bolts behind the fender. I strongly suggest getting that box I provided the link for. It looks nicer than a big hole in the firewall and you can keep the heater fan.
