Aftermarket Water Pump Brands

Is there a brand of water pump that stands out as better than the rest? Any of them American made?

I'll find out the length I need when I pull the pump this afternoon, but I'm leaning towards Flowkooler aluminum, assuming they have what l need.

I had a Flowcooler on my Mopar and it worked flawlessly.

If your car has the original engine then the water pump should have a 2" inlet. Most of those aluminum pumps have a 1.75" inlet for the '71 and later engines.

I need the short 5.1 pump, which I can't find in aluminum anyway.

So it's a GMB for $70, or Flowkooler which is a GMB pump and Flowkooler add a cast aluminum impeller for $155!

They are definitely proud of them.

Ha, that's a good way to put it!

Think I'll go with the normal GMB pump. That's what was on there, engine temps were never an issue. I don't have AC, and I do have a big aluminum radiator and twin electric fans.
