AC Temp 69 442
What is the "normal" temp output for a 69 442 with a Frigidaire AC compressor. The 442 I recently purchased does not seem to cool very well. Temp gage in center vent reads 58-60 degrees. Is this normal or do I need AC work.
Thanks in advance

Do you know what type of refrigerant is in your AC system?
Last time I checked my Cutlass the vent temp was in the mid 30s when the outside temp was ~90 (this is with an R12 system).
For comparison, my 98 Jeep Wrangler (R34A system) vent temp is 40 when it's 100+ outside. In the full afternoon sun and 110 out, the vent temp is closer to 50.
Easiest thing to do is look at the sight glass on the receiver to see if there are any bubbles/streaks, which indicate a low charge.
The best thing to do is check the high and low side pressures with AC gauges to see if the system is fully charged or possibly overcharged.

Temp in Tucson, Az is 108 today and is consistently above 100 during summer. Humidity usually not to bad but about 40% today. Thanks for your reply. So maybe a Freon service will help my R 12 system.
Thanks,
