Not for me but for a 66 Cutlass, I know I have seen a couple of stamped steel plates that in effect patch an AC firewall so just regular heater boxes, in and out, will fit and function. I searched eBay but not knowing the correct terminology I got nothing. Any help out there?

The HVAC system on the 64-67 cars is laid out very differently from those on the 68-72 cars. I've only seen the fiberglass heater-only box for the latter that eliminates the A/C evaporator.
some 64-65 Buick A bodies came with A/C ready status but didnt actually have A/C. I had one of these cars and it came with A/C fan shroud, hd radiator, and a firewall with the holes that would accept factory A/C parts. however it had a standard heater box, fan housing and interior components. to block off the holes they used factory made plates as seen in the picture.
the factory part number for these parts was 1363777-COVER-OUTSIDE AIR HOLE.

I'm sure those are easy to find...
Does that part number cover all three plates? There are the two above the heater box and the one large one under the blower motor.

I believe it does but I haven't been able to locate even so much as a picture to confirm. supposedly there are a total of 4 plates. the two shown in the picture, the one behind the blower and one down behind the kick panel. I have a 66 Special with factory A/C and i'm going to fabricate these plates to eliminate the A/C. a factory non a/c heater box and blow box will fit right in place of the a/c stuff. attached are a couple pics showing the difference between an A/C and non A/C firewall
