A4 intake on 69 350

Will an A4 intake work with a 69 350? If so what manifold gasket should be used? I'm planning on converting from the stock 2 barrel.

Yes the A4 intake will fit and work. Use the valley tray for a 1969 350 Olds

It will have an EGR configuration and uses hot air choke setup on the A4, so if you don't want that happening, you'll have to make arrangements to block off EGR and the choke setup on the 4 barrel would likely need to be electric or hot air if you want a choke.

A4 is an excellent choice for what you’re doing. As mentioned above, there are EGR holes (tap to NPT if they’re not already) in the plenum that need to be plugged after removing the tubes. The EGR flange will need to be capped, a fuel pump block off plate will work or I’m sure there are probably specific plates available. Gasket or sealer as you prefer.

A 69 has what I refer to as a “well” choke, a flat, coiled, bimetallic spring that sits in a recessed “well.” As designed, the A4 has a hot air choke with tubes that protrude into the exhaust crossover and connect to the choke housing. Depending on carb used and your preference, a manual choke will work, a hot air choke would be an option on a ‘70-up Quadrajet or use an electric choke, search for wiring tips if going that route. If not using a hot air choke, the choke flange will need to be capped, just like the EGR flange and iirc the same plate will work, even if a little modification is necessary. I believe that “Everyday Performance” in Granby, CT now offers an electric choke conversion for “well” style Qjets..

Have fun & good luck.
