85 442 question?

did all 85 442s have a limited slip rear end? i found one that is all original but it has sit outside in the sun for many years. the body is not rusted out and it is the original paint so there is nothing hiding. the paint is shot and the interior is not great. he only wants $800 for it. i hear that the rear end of these cars are worth that. is this true? if i could find one that has a bad body and good interior for the same price i would consider buying both of them. thanks for the help.

i just can't believe the body is good. no rust even under the doors.

For that price, I'd buy it even if I had to sell it for parts!

that is what i am thinking. the only thing is. it is his high school car and it is not for sale other than he know that i am an olds nut and thinks i would take care of it. i hate to get it and have to tell him i parted it out. i was thinking of making it a big block car but it has T tops. i have seen them crack bad behind the t top with very much extra power. grand nationals like to crack also.

no. Most G-bodies did not come with limited slip. Check for G80 on the decklid SPID sticker.
