79 omega vin ?

I just traded my silverado truck for a 79 olds omega. I have noticed the vin on the dash isn't enough numbers to run a vin check they local LEO or a Google site. The body plate under the hood has a couple different numbers. I'm looking to get the factory specs for this car. I was told it has a holds 350 rocket for a motor. Any help with vin will help thank you

Vinwiz was the site I used says the motor was a v6 but I have a v8 in it now just got to find out what v8. I did see that the firing order was stamped on the intake and on top on the distributor cap.

VINs were only 13 characters until the 1981 model year. All on-line VIN-checking services are only set up to accept 17 character VINs from 1981 and newer. You can decode your VIN with this.
