'78-'79 4/5 speeds w/ttops?

Does anyone else own/heard of a '78-'79 Cutlass factory 4/5 speed tranny and T-Tops? {BTW, mine has the 260 DIESEL and runs great!} How many were built, (*I heard of only 3) What would one be worth? THANKS, whips5spd/ttop

The five speed was available for a short time, also behind the chevy 305. I've never seen one in person.

I'd say thats pretty unique behind the diesal AND t-tops. I don't know of any source of official information, unless you have a canada built car. Hopefully someone else can actually help you.

I thought I read that 409 5 speeds were built. (Calais', Supremes & Broughams; *mine is a Calais) and of those, only 250 were mated to Diesels; ( how many are still around now?!) There must be only a handfull with the T-Tops option. Does anyone know where I can find a factory shift boot? Mine has a cigarette burn on it and I want to replace it, along with some other misc. parts. THANKS.

Good luck finding the factory shift boot.
I will say you have a rare bird there. I plan to make my 87 a 4 or 5 speed (keeps changing in my mind). Do post up some pics please.

Can the factory shift boot be repaired?
