76 Cutlass Stands Out In The Crowd

When I attend a large car show, it's typically overrun with Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, and Chevelles. So many in fact, that I usually just walk right by them. I tend to stop and look at cars that are not usually seen so often or maybe they are a little less desirable. My black on black 76 Cutlass Supreme was a great example of such at the annual Myrtle Beach "Run To The Sun" car show. Parked to my left was a beautiful 69 Camaro restomod. behind me, a 72 Corvette, and to my right, a classic 50's pick up of some sort. Forum member "Rickman" had his super clean 76 Cutlass there also; the only two 76 Cutlass' I saw out of 3000+ cars. So many people stopped to take pictures of my car and talk to me about it. Many of them stating that they used to have one many years ago, which isn't hard to believe considering it was the #1 selling car in the country that year. I left the three day event feeling pretty good about my less desirable 76 beauty, one that apparently evoked many memories upon seeing her.

Mom had a 76 Cutlass "S" with the slopped nose. Silver with a red swivel bucket gut, SS-3s, 350 4bbl, Auto console, with Posi rear. It got complements back then. Would not mind finding another for the stable.

Funny that almost everyone that comes up to these cars say they had one, I'm surprised you don't see many of them around. Up here in Canada were the only 76 at the shows. Maybe they will just start popping up all over the place .
