I have an original 72 w-30 hood ram air on my car when I bought the car from the other owner I noticed that the steel hood lining underneath started to make marks in the foam on the ram air kit.I was told that is because Im missing the screen mesh under the hood.If this is true where can I get it from

It was originally spot welded on there...if you look closely at your hoodskin metal underside you may be able to see the spots where it was originally attached. Sometimes people remove them to clean out leaves, etc....then they realize they can't re-attach them.

You could probably MIG weld it back on at a very low heat setting with the metal and screen being super clean or just use short sheet metal screws to hold it on.

 

I like that Idea Patton, would you put any loc-tite on the threads because of vibration? I had an opporunity for a W35 OAI OEM hood from one of the guys on this site, but can't afford it right now. What is your take on the glasstek hoods with glass liners being sold by PP, Tamraz etc? I thought i saw somewhere on line where you could order the metal liners for these hoods. Know anything about that?
