72 Olds 442 Convertible - Window Tinting
Anyone with pics of how a 1970-1972 442 Convertible (hardtops also) looks with tinted windows? Please post pics
Looking to get window tint due to extreme sun. Suns UV's both destroy interior materials and make the vehicle hot inside. Not to mention, the cancer causing UVs hit your arms and face while driving.

Here's my experience--probably a bit different than what you are thinking about, but it applies to your objectives as you stated them.
I wanted a tint to control heat inside the vehicle but absolutely didn't want one of those dark, limousine-look films. After some research, I got 3M CR70 film. It's very light in color and most people don't notice it. I even had it put on the windshield.
The day after installation, my wife and I were driving in 105° heat. It was amazing to put your hand in and out of the sunlight and feel no difference in heat. The person in the sun was as comfortable as the person out of the sun. The A/C on max recirc was too cold.
I was completely amazed. 3M claims the heat rejection is higher than the darkest limousine tint. Their figures show UV rejection 99%, infra-red rejection 97%, total solar rejection 50%.
If the car sits parked in the sun, I don't notice a big difference in internal temperature versus before, it just takes longer to heat up inside.
