72 cutlass intake question

72 cutlass intake question

I have a oldsmobile 455 intake.Would there be a diffrence if I put a w-30 455 intake in its place.

The only benefit will be lower weight. Both the aluminum intake and your wallet will be considerably lighter. Other than that, there is no performance difference. You'll be much better off with a modern aftermarket intake for a lot less money.

I just replied on another intake question this:.. We just dyno'ed a 455 mostly stock but with a comp cam. Also running a q-jet and repo w30 alum intake. Then we changed to a case iron stock intake and gained 10hp and 12ftlbs of torque.. No other changes made... At least that's what happened to us...
