The chrome trims that holds the conv boot down do have have metal clips that are used with the trim.Mine dont have them and what effect does it have without them.

 

The convertible boot does not use clips to hold it down. It has hard plactic around the bottom of the edge that goes under the chrome around the opening.

 

Ok let me ask the right ques.the pinchweld molding. Some years use pinchweld moulding clips does a 72 cutlass use them.and what is the effect if not used thanks.

 

I dont think you need clips , there will only be a screw on the right and left side of car to hold it on. The rest of the trim just pushes on I think. I am about ready to put mine back on but I dont remember how I took it off other than drilling out those 2 nasty to get at screws.

 

Elecman, I think you asked the question property. It is clear when I go back and read it now. I have never had mine off so I don't know.
