Sorry trouble getting link to insert, can’t be many 16k original mileage 1971 442s out there, not sure if this is one.
Fender ‘4 4 2’ numerals are way off as is Oldsmobile script on hood.
Cool car and paperwork though.

Beautiful car!!. This could be the lowest mileage 1971 442 convertible next to my white original paint survivor that has 81,000 miles. I love it, I only wish they checked this site regarding the proper width of the side stripes.

x3 on apparent repaint; rare dual snorkel air cleaner is however nice to see, although typically only found on four-speeds like my ‘72 V code, also sold new from General Sales in West Chester.

hmmm ....paperwork is really really nice.. but car has 'King' dealership badge on trunk....
General Sales (Cadillac/Olds) sold a ton of Oldsmobiles over the years..I bought my 74 used from them in 77. George could be tough to deal with.
I once heard George yell at a customer, in a full waiting room, " don't you bring a ******* Cadillac back from Florida!"

There is no way this car has ONLY 16K miles on it. Ok, maybe if they parked it in a barn and let it sit in the dirt. The rust pits on the metal underneath the car were covered up in black paint or undercoating, but you can see where it was.
This car has had a good going through and while the interior looks great, the rest of the car screams rebuilt/refurbished.
Three things make me cringe. As mentioned, the 442 on the front fenders look as if they were installed by Stevie Wonder. That sad looking wanna be W-stripe on the side sucks donkey nuts, and looking down the sides of the car, not much care in aligning any sheet metal.
Mileage is very uncertain to me, and I don't buy it. 116,000 maybe. But not 16. There needs to be further proof.
It might be worth a little less than current bid to me at the moment. Just my honest assessment.

I have a friend who's the original owner of a 4-speed ragtop with under 10k miles. He's not in the hobby so no one knows about it. I'm trying to get him to bring it to MCACN but he's not keen on the cost to ship it.

Also noticed the first 4 and the 2 on the driver fender has what appears to be a rust spot underneath each of them on the fender. It's not a shadow. Or maybe it's bad hole placement. Not sure what that is. But those fenders aren't original to the car, which is really odd for 16K miles (and using the originality card to try to sell it). The middle 4 seems to be skipping rope in between the first 4 and the 2. I can understand a shade of difference in replicating the factory alignment, but it's just way off the mark here.
