70 Post Coupe
70 Post Coupe
Hey Guys,
There was a Black/white 4 speed "POST COUPE" ON FEEBAY THAT WENT FOR $21,600 but reserve not met.
The AD said w30 but with no Docs.
Is that anybody's on the Forum?
Thinking about what it's Worth.
Johnny!!!

If it was "reserve not met" then it didn't "go" for anything. Until cash changes hands any number you see is meaningless. You don't know if that was a legitimate bid or just shill bid by the seller.
so Joe is this your car? I mean that's what I asked right not some smart remark saying it "didn't go for anything" reserve not met. believe I stated reserve not met and it went for $21,600 meaning up to we all know the terms don't we Joe?

If you walk up to someone and say "this car went for $21K", the vast majority of people would take that to mean it sold for that amount. I guess I did not understand the intent of your original post. I've found that some people seem to think that an asking price on ebay is somehow an indication of value.
Im with you on this one Johnny. I would search the for sale section and see if you can find it there. I think it was talked about a week or two ago as to the w 30 ness of it and what it might be worth . But don't think it was a C O members car.
Hey guys the guy offered it to me for 22k?
What do you think of it? ITEM NUMBER 221738825891

I did not see the car . But the price is a tip it very well could be a clone. That said. Can you live with a cloned w30 that would if documented be close to double ? Is the clone job close enough for "you" ? The items like the regulator could be changed out to the correct w30 style and alternator . If you love the color combo and plan to drive it and it has F heads. W intake ow trans or manual did see then I can see the lure . Good Luck
A standard 442 should not have an external regulator either. If this has the 344 VIN then it is either a Cutlass rebody and they kept the ext. reg. or somebody added it which would require rewiring or replacement which would be more work than keeping the int. reg. There was an advertised 70 W-30 a few years ago in southern OK that said they had changed all the parts over to another body from a totalled W-30. I asked for the VIN of the car or if it stated in 344 but he would not give it up or show any paperwork from the W-30. I am not sure if he had changed VIN tags and did not want to admit it or the car still had the original Cutlass VIN and knew that would devalue it.

I inquired about the car and at least two very knowledgeable members went to see it in person. If they want to say something that is up to them.
The seller in Arizona owned the car for some time. He said 15 years or better.
Anyone remember when the repro fender wells became available?
The car had some significant accident damage repaired and while then owner bought it in AZ, he did think the car originated from the East Coast.
There was virtually nothing present to help verify its status as a W-30. But it is a 442 post and may have been black as well as a 4 speed built in Lansing.

Yea, her insurance company took liability, I'll get it fixed in the next fewweeks. I was just about to set up for a replacement duel exhaust system. Istuck it in the garage and haven't driven it since. She was cute and she wasvery apologetic. I was hoping for at least a date out of it but she’s married.
